New fiscal year 2008 funding provides ERS with the resources needed to Strengthen and Extend its Market Analysis and Outlook Program and thereby provide the world-class analysis necessary for 21st century agricultural markets.

Overview

U.S. Exports

Total U.S. agricultural exports were slightly higher in June, with bulk products growing 3 percent from May to June and high-value products declining about 1 percent. June monthly export value was $9.6 billion. Year-to-date exports, at nearly $87 billion, are up 45 percent over the first three quarters of fiscal 2007 with bulk commodities rising 71 percent and high-value commodities up 28 percent. Grains and soybeans account for most of the increase, although there were significant increases in dairy products and vegetable oils as well.

Readers of ERS outlook reports have two ways they can receive an e-mail notice about release of reports and associated data.

• Receive timely notification (soon after the report is posted on the web) via USDA’s Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (which is housed at Cornell University’s Mann Library). Go to the system's E-mail Delivery of Reports page and follow the instructions to receive e-mail notices about ERS, Agricultural Marketing Service, National Agricultural Statistics Service, and World Agricultural Outlook Board products.

• Receive weekly notification (on Friday afternoon) via the ERS website. Go to ERS's E-mail Updates page and follow the instructions to receive notices about ERS outlook reports, Amber Waves magazine, and other reports and data products on specific topics. ERS also offers RSS (really simple syndication) feeds for all ERS products.
