WOLCOTT ROAD PAVING WILL BEGIN TUESDAY
Construction Update from Legislator Mike Ranzenhofer
Clarence, New York – Erie County Legislator Michael Ranzenhofer announced that Wolcott Road in Clarence has begun reconstruction and paving will start today.
Legislator Ranzenhofer has been a strong advocate in the Erie County Legislature for the restoration, repair, and maintenance for county-owned roadways. The Wolcott Road project is one of several road and bridge projects that Legislator Ranzenhofer put into motion to ensure safe travel for motorists and emergency vehicles.
The road will be completed in two phases. Phase I will reconstruct a 1.8 mile stretch of Wolcott Road beginning at Goodrich Road to Kenfield Road. Crews removed 3 inches of old road which equals about 26,000 square yards of road surface. Over 4,500 tons of asphalt will cover the new road which has been milled, prepped, and is now ready for paving.
Legislator Ranzenhofer expressed his thanks to Jerry Sentz, Commissioner of the Erie County Department of Public Works, for his leadership, the Town of Clarence and the employees who have helped to plan and execute the road repair project.
"Erie County's Department of Public Works worked closely with the Town of Clarence to carefully plan the construction so as not to adversely affect how flooding occurs in the area," said Legislator Mike Ranzenhofer.
"Thanks to this team effort, Wolcott Road will be a safer and smoother road on which to travel for years to come," stated Ranzenhofer.
