Bikestation Seattle, located at 311 Third Ave. S. in Pioneer Square, is a ground breaking facility offering the public a range of resources to encourage the link between bicycling and public transportation. Now the headquarters of The Bicycle Alliance of Washington, Bikestation Seattle is convenient to a variety of public transportation modes, including Metro bus, Amtrak, Sounder commuter rail, the Waterfront Streetcar and the Washington State Ferries at Colman Dock.

Bikestation services include secure, indoor bicycle parking available to members 24/7 with a membership fob. There is free, attended bicycle parking during operating hours. Bicycle repair services and commuter retail items are also available at this facility, as well as public transportation schedules, bike maps, and a personalized service matching new bicycle commuters with experienced cyclists who can help them plan a commute route, provide tips on bicycle commuting, and generally serve as mentors.

Hours

  • Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 24/7 access: Bikestation members can utilize secure bicycle parking with a membership card.

Membership Plans

  • Daily: $1 per day (purchase in $10 increments) + $20 administrative fee
  • Annual: $96 per year + $20 administrative fee Includes Home Free Guarantee (a taxi ride home in case of emergencies)
  • Business memberships: Rate depends on number of memberships being purchased.

Members receive a 10% discount on parts and accessories, lower rates for bicycle rentals (more info available on this as of March, 2006), $10 off Flexcar memberships and Home Free Guarantee (annual members only).

  • Encouraging modal shifts from single-occupancy vehicles to reduce vehicular emissions and alleviate traffic and congestion on roads and at transit park-and-rides;
  • Increasing trips on public transportation;
  • Increasing trips that improve public health like walking and biking;
  • Improving the efficiency of the existing transportation system, and
  • Providing a focal point for bicycle commuting and alternative transportation.
