About OSTP

The OSTP works closely with individual CCR investigators, Faculties, Core Facilities, and NCI technology development programs to identify new technologies and resources that will expedite the translation of basic research findings into new therapies, diagnostics, and preventative agents. The Office serves as an initial point of contact for companies, providing them with information on major CCR research initiatives or other partnership opportunities, and advising them on the available mechanisms for collaborating with CCR scientists. The OSTP identifies new technologies being developed outside the CCR, and creates means for making them available to CCR scientists. Lastly, the Office communicates about core and technology-related resources through the creation of web sites and databases, and promotes training and education through seminars, workshops, and symposia on technologies and partnerships.

OSTP facilities strategic partnerships for CCR Technology Initiatives:

  • Translational Research and Drug Development
  • Clinical and Biomedical Proteomics
  • Microarray Technologies
  • RNA Interference Technologies
  • Nanotechnology
  • Animal Models Development
  • Advanced Imaging
  • Structural Genomics

OSTP provides management support for:

  • Development of web sites and databases related to technologies
  • NCI core facilities and technology programs
  • Beta-testing of new scientific instrumentation
  • Educational events to promote technology development, technology transfer, and partnerships

OSTP serves as coordinator and facilitator of interactions between CCR investigators, private sector, and the Technology Transfer Center.
