Rio Grande Community Farm Leaving www.cabq.gov, click for disclaimer and the Open Space Division bring you the exciting and popular Maze in the Maize at the Los Poblanos Fields Open Space. 

This year's theme is "Made in the Shade," in celebration of the native Rio Grande Cottonwood and the cool shade it provides. The Maze will be in the form of a giant cottonwood tree.

WHEN:

Saturday August 30th through Sunday November 2nd, 2008

  • Friday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM
  • Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Sundays from Noon – 6:00 PM

GRAND OPENING CEREMONY: SEPTEMBER 6TH AT 11:30 am

Los Poblanos Fields Open Space

(West of 4th on Montaño NW, north on Tierra Viva).

ADMISSION PRICES:


Adults $8.00 • Seniors $6.00 • Children 4-12 $4.00 • Children under 4 Free

SPECIAL EVENT DAYS:


September 6 at 11:30 AM, we will have a Grand Opening, featuring presenters, speakers, and a Ribbon Cutting. Community leaders, and other dignitaries will assist in the ceremony. This will be a major media day, with opportunities for photographs and feature articles.
September 27, Farm and Wildlife Day, a special event featuring animals, organic farming information, sustainability groups, community booths, wildlife groups and other vendors. The event will be from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and is free with admission to the 2008 Maize Maze.
October 18, Arts Day, featuring local artists and crafts people. They will have many different types of work for display and for sale. The event will be from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and is free with admission to the 2008 Maize Maze.
Moonlight Mazes on the evenings of September 12 & 13, and October 10 & 11. The maze hours will be extended into the late evening on these days.
The Annual Haunted Maze will take place on October 31, and November 1. It will feature a spooky maze and haunters to delight and frighten our visitors.
