Coastal and Shoreline Restoration and Protection

Many scientists predict another forty to fifty years of severe
Atlantic-basin storm activities. With hurricanes like Katrina and Rita possibly
becoming more commonplace, the National Plant Materials Center has developed
this storm-damage prevention database.
The NRCS Plant Materials Program provides
technical resources and information on plants useful for coastal stabilization,
technical documents from the Plant Materials Program, links to PMCs working on
coastal issues, and links to other resources that will give your community
access to the tools necessary to create, restore and protect vital coastal
wetlands that are a first defense against severe storm activity. |
