Hawaii
Hawaii relies heavily on energy generated from biomass and, in fact, generates more power from biomass each year than any other state except California. Hawaii has used geothermal energy to generate electricity since 1981. Also, photovoltaic technology continues to develop as a new energy source throughout Hawaii, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars annually and reducing the emission of greenhouse gases. |
