ENTERPRISE FILE DELIVERY (EFD)
OVERVIEW
Provides replication capability - means to synchronize large file storage between geographically separated sites, reduces network usage at bandwidth-constrained locations. Some of the advantages of using EFD include:
- Provides means to synchronize large file storage between separated sites
- Reduces network usage at bandwidth-constrained locations
- Provides local access to otherwise inaccessible content
- Standalone application
- Installs on locally-provided hardware and can be colocated with other apps
- Uses HTTPS protocol for fast secure transfer - GBS transport provides an alternate data route for low bandwidth users
- Content Consumer driven file and directory synchronization
- Low cost solution
- Support for Solaris, Windows, and Linux
Some of the features of EFD include:
- Synchronize file storage between producer and consumer
- File distribution from one to many sites
- Transfer of files as large as 8 GB
- File delivery confirmation for delivery
- Provides data compression, delivery times (synchronization defined by user
- Supports automated synchronization between the primary and failover storage facilities
- Supports command’s information dissemination policy allowing users/network planners to choose transmission path based on file size
