Start of NCI BALB/cAnN colony from NIH

NCI has received a start of BALB/cAnN from NIH that we will be expanding.  This start has been genetically tested and compared to the existing colony and there were no differences found. This start will replace the current BALB/cAnNCr colony that is located at Frederick, Maryland in building 1032. This turnover will take between 6 months and a year. Once the 1032 colony has been established and breeding we will, based on production and aggressiveness, determine whether all colonies will be replaced.
