Southwestern’s policy is to provide the most opportunities possible in its acquisition process to
small businesses, historically underutilized business (HUB) zone small business concerns, small disadvantaged
business concerns, women owned small business concerns, service disabled veteran owned small businesses, and
veteran owned small businesses.
Southwestern promotes small business by:
- Meeting with small businesses to provide guidance and information
- Encouraging prime contractors to subcontract with small business concerns
- Publicizing contract actions to web sites dedicated to Federal business opportunities
- Matching our requirements with small business capabilities
- Establishing realistic delivery schedules and/or periods of performance
- Monitoring legislation and regulations which impact small business
