at Brookhaven National Laboratory
|
Carbon Cycle Science & Technology
Group
Aims to increase our understanding of the effects of
global change on the carbon cycle. They also build and operate
(FACE) facilities. |
|
Molecular Environmental Science
Group
Conducts research to increase the fundamental molecular-level
understanding of mechanisms of contaminant transformation,
sequestration and fate in subsurface environments... |
|
Technology Development/Applications Group
Applies and develops technology and software for environmental
research, remediation, and management problems. |
|
Tracer Technology Group
Applies perfluorocarbon tracer (PFT) technology to scientific and technical questions, to
improve PFT methods, and to develop new applications for this unique tool. |
Mission Statement - The Environmental Research and Technology Division (ERTD) conducts basic
and applied research on critical environmental issues including the effects
of elevated carbon dioxide and other pollutants, fate and transport of
contaminants in air, soil, and water, environmental restoration, and waste
treatment. ERTD research spans the molecular level through large field
studies and the development of innovative technologies from
proof-of-principle through applied technology development, demonstration and
deployment.
