In addition to in-house projects, the Disability and Health Team, within the CDC, National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, supports state health departments, universities, and national organizations to develop state disability and health programs, implement interventions that promote the health of people with disabilities throughout their lifespan, deliver health communication messages, and assess health risks and the health status of people with disabilities.  To quickly navigate this page and obtain descriptions of our ongoing activities, click on the menu LINKS below.

   STATE DISABILITY & HEALTH PROGRAMS

Disability and Health State Programs  

The CDC, NCBDDD, Disability and Health Team administers awards to implement effective state-based programs to improve the health of state residents with disabilities.  Funding is competed periodically, usually every 5 years.
