OGP Trains Section 508 Coordinators and Demonstrates Products
The week of November 29, 2004, GSA, Center for IT Accommodation hosted the annual
Section 508 Coordinator Conference in Gettysburg PA. At least 35 Federal agencies participated in
this event which expands the expertise. This year we also included a special event with 40 vendors
that showcased Section 508 products and services. Several agencies best practices were presented,
including GSA’s Office of Civil Rights and Usability University. There was an in depth demonstration of
the Section 508 Buy Accessible Wizard, as well as a panel discussion with experts from the Access Board,
private industry and the USPTO to discuss Section 508 experiences and terminology. The overall conference
was a great success and all the attendees went away with a plethora of useful information. For further
information please contact Helen Chamberlain at 202-219-2348.
