Global Visualization Viewer

The USGS Global Visualization Viewer (GLOVIS) is a quick and easy online search and order tool for selected satellite data, including ASTER Level 1B images. When you first open GLOVIS, you will see the Global View: a MODIS image of the world. Clicking on the map selects an area of interest, and displays color browse images for the sensor you have selected. With ASTER selected, a 10 x 10 browse image mosaic appears, at a resolution of 1000 m. You can zoom in to 3x3 mosaic with 400 m resolution, and finally a single scene with 90m resolution. The tool allows you to bring up all of the L1B scenes in the archive, and quickly determine what scenes may be of use. GLOVIS permits you to add a scene to a scene list, and build up an order. The “Order” button takes you to a screen to fill out personal shipping information. This is then passed on to the EDG ordering system, and your order is fulfilled as if you had gone through the EDG tool.
