Welcome to my Academy website. Each year, I have the honor of nominating a select group of Oklahoma high school and college students for admission to the U.S. military service academies: Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine. These nominations are limited and the principal criterion for selection is excellence in academics and activities.
These nominations, if accepted by the academies, provide young people with full, four-year scholarships at high-quality educational institutions, as well as pride in the knowledge that they are serving their country.
Applicants must be United States citizens between the ages of 17 and 23 on the date they would enter the academy. The applicant must also be a resident of Oklahoma. Completed application packets for the class entering 2009 are to be in my Tulsa office no later than October 31, 2008. It is suggested that you mail everything no later than October 28, 2008 and then follow up to make sure that everything has been received. My Academy Coordinator is Anita Tate, and you will be working with her throughout this process.
Anita can be reached by email at academy_nominations@inhofe.senate.gov, or by phone in Tulsa at 918-748-5111. If you are in the Oklahoma City area, please phone 405-608-4381. For written correspondence, the address is 1924 South Utica, Suite 530, Tulsa, OK 74104. I am aware of the effort involved in obtaining a nomination and Anita is available to help make this process as smooth as possible. Please feel free to contact her at any time.
The following documents are to be downloaded, completed and mailed to the Tulsa office: personal information sheet, including the 2 pages to be used for the handwritten essay, and the information checklist. There should be a total of 18 pages. After you have downloaded the application packet, please send Anita an email, at the above email address, notifying her to open an account for you. This will allow her to correspond with you regarding missing information and other important notices. Please provide your name, address and telephone number in that email.
I encourage you to also contact Sen. Coburn’s office and the U.S. Representative for your district.
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a Congressional nomination for admittance. If you are interested in attending the Coast Guard Academy, apply directly to the Academy by writing:
