Al Roker Will Attempt World Record Forecast

“Today” show and Weather Channel host Al Roker will attempt a Guinness World Record next week for the longest uninterrupted weather report: 34 hours!

Rokerthon kicks off Wednesday at 10pmET on Today.com, continues all day Thursday and ends — Roker hopes — at 8am Friday on the “Today” show. And boy, will he be ripe. At least he won’t have to worry about shaving. Roker’s weather reports will air across NBC platforms, including “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” on NBC affiliates and the Weather Channel.

It’s all part of Roker’s Shine a Light campaign for the USO and challenges the current record of 24 hours.

While this may be his longest forecast, did you hear the one about Roker’s first regular weather gig? It came at Syracuse station WHEN (now WTVH) when the regular weatherman inadvertently used a word that rhymes with “front” on live TV. Let’s just hope something similar doesn’t slip during Rokerthon.
