The voting came to a close Tuesday night on our Most Admired Automotive CEO poll. You may have noticed we have not posted the results.

More than 25,000 votes were cast. That's a good response.

A little too good.

We could see day-to-day how the votes were coming in.

We noticed something fishy.

The Wichita Business Journal can see where our poll participation comes from. We can see how many times someone has voted from a specific IP address.

We saw thousands coming in at a brisk, regular pace from a few IP addresses. It was clear someone had set up software to automatically vote for certain CEOs.

We know that the automatic voting was being done for at least two of the CEOs, and maybe others.

We know the IP addresses. Maybe the CEOs and their companies didn't even know this was happening.

Nevertheless, I can't allow it to go on, so here's what we're going to do:

I'm tossing out the results of the first Most Admired Automotive CEO poll, and we'll try again toward the end of the month.

In the meantime, another poll has begun. You can vote on the Most Admired Wichita Banking CEO.

And we'll be watching.
