Scientists Say Oil Industry Likely Caused Largest Oklahoma Earthquake

Iran has had a couple of really big ones the last week. Wonder if there are wells near those sites.
Please refer to the interview with the director of the Oklahoma Geological Survey today where he said these earthquakes were certainly not caused by “hydro fracking”.
Informed people who understand science and data understand this concept. This would also apply to earthquakes in Iran, although that comment was surely sarcasm.
Nice try, Mrashall. But those of us to are paying attention know that 90% of all oil and gas wells in the US are fracked and we can connect the dots between the need to dispose of the massive amounts of wastewater created by fracking and, well, FRACKING.

Let’s see, we have:
Locations that never saw earthquakes BEFORE fracking, are having extensive and frequent earthquakes AFTER fracking…..
Water that was of good drinking quality BEFORE fracking, suddenly has high levels of dangerous chemicals AFTER fracking…..
If it walks like a duck, and quacks (or quakes?) like a duck, according to the oil and gas industry, and “Marshall”—-it’s a horse! Fracking doesn’t cause earthquakes, it’s just a huge coincidence! You silly non-scientist people!

My understanding is that the best evidence linking earthquakes to UIC wells in OK comes from a a geologist/seismologist who set up instruments in her own house; and used the resulting data to essentially prove that the quakes were caused by nearby injection well activity. Subsequent to her report, the OGS issued their whitewash. What is happening to Science in this country?
