Hartford Mayor, Council Want Voting Snafu Answers
(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) - In Hartford, where voting issues delayed and, in some cases prevented residents from casting ballots, there’s now word of an investigation.
Mayor Pedro Segarra and City Council President Shawn Wooden are co-sponsoring a measure calling for an investigation into the Registrars of Voters offices.
Draft resolutions have been submitted for consideration in time for the next City Council meeting on Monday.
Voter registration booklets were not available when the polls opened in some places Tuesday.
And there were also reports of polls not opening on time.
A Superior Court judge issued a ruling allowing two polling places to remain open an extra half hour on Election Day.
In addition, a second resolution calls for the council and the mayor to review the findings of a council committee.
A public meeting to discuss proposed changes will be scheduled.
