Veterans Day RelayResidents Invited to Participate in Inaugural Veterans Day Relay

Flower Mound residents are invited to participate in the inaugural Flower Mound Veterans Day Relay on Veterans Day, November 11. From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., participants will commemorate our nation’s veterans and their service by carrying the American flag in a 15-mile relay run comprised of five, three-mile segments throughout Town. The course will start and end in the Lakeside DFW development, followed by a post-race celebration from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Normandy Homes’ model home, 609 Sandy Lane in Flower Mound. Residents are also able to sign-up to volunteer or to run the last-mile of the relay along with other participants. All volunteers and participants must attend an informational meeting at 10 a.m. November 1 at Town Hall, 2121 Cross Timbers Rd. Space is limited. Veterans Day
Sunday, November 9, 1 to 3 p.m.

A family picnic will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm with free hot dogs, cake, and lemonade. From 2:00pm-3:00pm, the Town will host a Veterans Day ceremony which will include a Veterans Review where approximately 200 local Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and ROTC units parade before the Veterans in uniform. ROTC units and Scout groups can enter the Review by completing the Veterans Review application form. For more information, please call 972.874.6276.

Dorothy's Dash 5K & Kid's K, Presented by Kroger
Saturday, November 15, 8 a.m.

Help the Town commemorate Dorothy’s battle with MS by participating in the annual Dorothy’s Dash 5K race and Kid’s K. Former Town of Flower Mound employee Dorothy Walkup, lost her battle with Multiple Sclerosis on November 16, 2004. Net proceeds will benefit the Lone Star Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Dorothy’s honor.
