Some 635,000 costumed children ages 5 to 14 will swarm Colorado neighborhoods demanding candy on Friday, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

And, according to WalletHub, the Mile High City is one of the best places to do it in.

Denver ranks eighth out of 100 cities in the online financial site's "Best and Worst Cities for Halloween" study, which analyzes cities based on their entertainment offerings, environment and safety, parties and activities and weather forecast.

But don't get too excited. The reason Denver ranks so high is largely due to the warm weather that's forecast. ( 9News forecasts Halloween night to be around 61 degrees).

For entertainment, environment and safety, Denver comes in at No. 30 overall, and for parties and activities it ranks No. 29 out of the 100 cities analyzed.

WalletHub ranked the cities based on 15 key metrics. Denver came in:

  • 23rd for the percent of occupied housing units.
  • 27th for its "walk score" (walkable distance in the neighborhood).
  • 37th for its crime rate.
  • 54th for the number of Halloween costume stores per capita.
  • 12thfor the number of candy stores per capita.
  • 12th for the number of bars per capita.
  • 35th for population density.

The top 10 U.S. cities for Halloween in WalletHub's report are:

  1. St. Paul.
  2. Minneapolis.
  3. Dallas.
  4. Santa Ana, California.
  5. Irving, Texas.
  6. Garland, Texas.
  7. Chandler, Texas.
  8. Denver.
  9. Arlington, Texas.
  10. Las Vegas.
