Dillons has opened its 16th Wichita-area fuel center.

The Hutchinson-based company's latest fuel center addition is at its store at 10515 W. Central, a site near Central and Maize Road.

Dillons added a five-pump fueling station there along with a service kiosk for on-the-go items, such as beverages and candy. That kiosk is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Customers have access to the gas pumps 24 hours a day.

For Dillons, this is part of a larger service-expansion effort that also includes various store expansions and improvements around the Wichita area.

Kroger-owned Dillons isn't detailing the extent of that plan, but spokeswoman Sheila Lowrie says the company has no imminent plans to add any more fuel centers locally.

The addition of fuel services at the West Central store gives Dillons 14 of its fuel centers in Wichita. The company also has a similar center in Andover and Derby.

Dillons started its movement into the fuel business in 2001.
