KC area will get first chance to test drive new F-150

Ford Motor Co. plans to give people in the Kansas City area an opportunity to test drive the redesigned 2015 Ford F-150 before it hits dealerships.
Ford will hold five test-drive events from Nov. 4-8 throughout the area as part of a nationwide, 38-city tour.
The local tour stops will be held:
- from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Tractor Supply Co., 15945 South U.S. Highway 169 in Olathe
- from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 5 at Tractor Supply Co., 2210 S. Missouri Route 291 in Independence
- from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Tractor Supply Co., 2420 Fairfield St. in Lawrence
- from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 7 at Tractor Supply Co., 111 N. Main St. in Lansing
- from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Euston's Hardware in the Prairie Village Shopping Center, 6955 Tomahawk Road in Prairie Village

Customers have been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to check out the newly designed 2015 F-150, which shed about 700 pounds through the use of state-of-the art materials, giving it better control, performance and gas mileage than previous models.

"Truck customers are going to learn about and experience the F-150's new features and improved performance from the best place possible — the drivers seat," Ford Truck Group Marketing Manager Doug Scott said in a release. "This is the most anticipated truck in Ford history. Consumers will see for themselves how Ford reinvented the pickup, and experience how the all-new F-150 is a more capable and efficient tool that can make their daily lives easier and more productive."
