Del. Woman Reportedly Looking For Prescription Drugs Gets Screened For Ebola After Calling 911 Four Times In One Day

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – A Del. woman is charged with calling 911 four times in one day with nonexistent emergencies that even resulted in Ebola screening.
According to police, officers responded to the Pine Valley Apartments on Tuesday, Oct. 21 around 11:06 a.m. to assist Wilmington Manor Fire Company with a patient later identified as 25-year-old Chastity Lynch.
During an interaction with medical personnel, officials say Lynch’s actions resulted in a screening for Ebola, thus causing emergency teams and other resources to begin mobilization until health care personnel ruled out any possible threat to the public.
With each of Lynch’s visits to the hospital, she requested pain medication then left the hospital without notice to hospital staff. Her last visit to the hospital resulted in an arrest for attempting to obtain a controlled substance by deception and falsely reporting an incident to the emergency services organization.
Lynch has been committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to post $2,500 bail. She was also issued a no adverse contact order with the Emergency Services Communication Division.
