A Family Guide to Keeping
Youth Mentally Health & Drug Free
SAMHSA developed this guide to support adults-parents,
family members, caregivers, teachers, and other youth mentors-in
their efforts to help children aged 7 to 18 make good decisions,
feel safe and protected, and have successful lives. The
ultimate goal is to promote youth mental health and discourage
youth drug use.
Community
Organizations
Community groups play a crucial role
in organizing impaired driving programs at the local level.
A community's commitment to end impaired driving should
involve a wide array of community and civic groups.
Help your community take action with the following NHTSA
tools.
Safe
Communities
Nine agencies within the U.S. Department
of Transportation are working together to promote and implement
a safer national transportation system by combining the
best injury prevention practices into the Safe Communities
approach to serve as a model throughout the nation.
Cape
Girardeau Safe Communities Program
The goal of the Cape Girardeau Safe
Communities Program is to provide injury prevention strategies,
primarily in the areas of traffic safety to the citizens
of Cape Girardeau County.
Safe
Community Activities
Here we list the Safe Community "best
practice" activities for the major areas in a highway
and traffic safety program. Because a Safe Community uses
a systems approach, we have identified both countermeasure
and system support activities.
Program
Assessments
Program Assessments are peer reviews
of highway safety and emergency medical services (EMS) programs
facilitated by NHTSA for the benefit of state officials.
National Recovery Month
The Recovery Month effort aims to promote the societal benefits of alcohol and drug use disorder treatment, laud the contributions of treatment providers and promote the message that recovery from alcohol and drug use disorders in all its forms is possible.
