Development Leave

Faculty Development Leave Policy meeting; speaker at the head of a classroomFaculty development leave is authorized for the general purpose of increasing the value of the recipient's sustained contribution to the university by providing the individual an opportunity for professional growth. Development leave may be granted, upon application, for study, research, writing, field observations, or other suitable purposes. Developmental leave provides opportunities for additional training and improving skills.

Faculty Development Leave requests for the 2022-2023 academic year should be emailed to Academic Resources (academic.resources@unt.edu) in the Office of the VP Academic Affairs & Provost as a single PDF document per applicant from each Dean’s office by September 27, 2021.
