About

The Equity & Diversity Conference is an annual event hosted by the Division of Institutional Equity & Diversity at the University of North Texas. The conference brings together hundreds of students, educators, and professionals who are committed to equity, access, and inclusion in higher education, but is also open to any community members interested in diversity and inclusion topics.

Each year the conference is keynoted by a speaker with relevant knowledge, skills, and experience related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or social justice. Past speakers have included Bakari Sellers, Dr. Melissa Harris-Perry, Dr. Derald Wing Sue, Hill Harper, and Soledad O’Brien.

Facing the Future Together: Allies, Accomplices, & Action

Building community and creating coalitions for change are needed now more than ever. We stand “UNiTed” facing the challenges of a global pandemic, a national reckoning with institutional and structural racism, and answering calls to action cultivating both allies and accomplices for social change. Join us for our 21st year and first-ever virtual UNT Equity and Diversity Conference welcoming those who may have recently joined the struggle for social justice, active allies standing in solidarity with minoritized groups, and accomplices affecting change as we face our future together.

Testimonials

“What I was able to hear about was how faculty can actually recognize in the classroom when something’s uncomfortable and tools that can really help faculty learn how to talk about it with students and don’t leave it as unsaid.”

— Lesa Roe, Chancellor of the University of North Texas System
