COVID-19 Updates

At this time, we are planning to offer both in-person and virtual Freshman and Transfer Orientation experiences for Summer/Fall 2021. Please note that this could change due to the evolving nature of COVID-19 and its impacts.

We have developed a FAQ page for the virtual orientation program to assist you with questions.

About Orientation

Orientation is your first step in successfully transitioning to UNT. All new undergraduate students are required to attend an orientation session. For freshmen, orientation is a 2-day experience designed to help students become acclimated to the university. For transfer students, orientation is a 1-day experience with the same goal.

During orientation, you will have the chance to meet with faculty and staff from your respective college or school, new classmates, and current students. Orientation is a time for you to learn about campus resources, receive academic advising in preparation for registering for classes, and learn about UNT's traditions! You will leave orientation with a class schedule for the upcoming semester.

Our team is working hard to prepare your summer orientation experience, and we know you likely have questions about what to expect at orientation. To help, we have developed a Frequently Asked Questions page. Additionally, we are organizing two Q&A webinars about summer orientation.
