McConnell Society
The McConnell Society is named in honor of Joseph McConnell (1934-1951), whose work as the university’s seventh president paved the way for graduate studies. This society honors inspirational donors whose cumulative lifetime giving totals $1 million or more.

Matthews Society
The Matthews Society honors J.C. Matthews (1951-1968), who conferred the university’s first graduate degree while serving as the eighth president. This society recognizes generous donors who have made cumulative lifetime contributions of $500,000 to $999,999.

Kendall Society
The Kendall Society was established in recognition of the university’s fourth president, J.S. Kendall (1901-1906), who is credited with building the foundation for a thriving university. This society honors loyal donors who have made cumulative lifetime gifts of $250,000 to $499,999.

Chilton Society
The Chilton Society honors the man whose determination to charter the Texas Normal College and Teacher Training Institute led to the UNT we know today: the university’s founder and first president, Joshua C. Chilton (1890-1893). This society celebrates donors who have made cumulative lifetime gifts of $100,000 to $249,999.

The President’s Council
The President’s Council was established in the early 1970s, coinciding with the inauguration of UNT President C.C. Nolen (1971-1979). Society membership includes donors who have made cumulative lifetime gifts of $25,000 to $99,999.
