SAFE: Saving Animals From Extinction

SAFE combines the resources and collective expertise of AZA members and partners with the power of zoo and aquarium visitors to save animals from extinction and invites you to join the effort.

Conservation Grants Fund (CGF)

Established in 1984, the Conservation Grants Fund (previously called the Conservation Endowment Fund, or CEF) supports the cooperative conservation-related scientific and educational initiatives of AZA, AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums, and their collaborators. Since 1991, the CGF has provided more than $7 million to nearly 390 projects worldwide. This is made possible through the generous donations of members and institutions.

Employee Relief Fund

Donate now to the Employee Relief Fund to support employees of AZA members when natural disasters and tragic events occur. The Fund began in 2017, when Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma severely impacted members in Texas and Florida. AZA collected more than $170,000 to contribute back to AZA member zoos and aquariums in these regions. Donate now to support members when they need it most.
