Community Managers

The Federal Technology Investment Management (FTIM) Community of Practice (CoP) helps federal agencies implement a standard way to categorize information technology (IT) costs, technologies, resources, applications, and services. We help agencies optimize the value of their IT investments by prioritizing transparency, consumption, and performance. If you’re a federal employee or contractor with a .gov or .mil email address and are interested in helping the federal government improve cost management for IT, we welcome you!

Who We Are

The FTIM CoP consists of government professionals working to enhance IT spending transparency across government. We also engage industry, academia, and nonprofits to help agencies better understand and communicate the business and mission value of IT spending.

What We Do

Our community leverages agency knowledge to mature and streamline the Capital Planning and Investment Control, Technology Business Management, and portfolio management processes. We aim to achieve greater government-wide efficiency in the management of federal IT resources and assets.

The FTIM CoP meets monthly to discuss and share best practices that improve IT cost transparency. Learn more about TBM on CIO.gov, and email us at FTIM-COP@gsa.gov with questions.

Community Conduct

The Communities of Practice are hosted by digital.gov, a service of the Technology Transformation Services (TTS) within the General Services Administration (GSA).
