The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) has a mission to strengthen knowledge and understanding of dietary supplements. The thorough analytical characterization of dietary supplements is a critical step in demonstrating safety and understanding their health effects, and the ODS Analytical Methods and Reference Materials Program (AMRM) is focused on developing and disseminating resources that scientists and analysts need to ensure that the characterization of dietary supplements, natural products, and nutrient biomarkers are precise, accurate, and reliable.
