The Bakersfield Field Office plans to conduct prescribed fire operations at Case Mountain Extensive Recreation Management Area, southeast of the town of Three Rivers in Tulare County. Pile burn operations are scheduled to start the week of Jan. 19 and may continue periodically through the spring.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ukiah Field Office invites the public to the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument’s BLM Trails and Travel Management Workshop on January 28, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. This virtual workshop will provide an overview of the BLM travel management process, which is scheduled to begin later in 2021, and invite participants to provide comment.

The Bureau of Land Management today released for public review and comment a preliminary environmental assessment analyzing a range of alternatives for managing wild horses and burros on public lands in northern Washoe County, Nev.

The Bureau of Land Management will implement a temporary closure of public lands in the Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Area in San Bernardino County Jan. 28 – Feb. 6. The temporary closure will help enhance public safety during the annual 2021 King of the Hammers desert race event, which is authorized by a BLM Special Recreation Permit.

The Bureau of Land Management has released a draft environmental impact statement and plan amendment for the three plans that underlie the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP). The public comment period will end on April 15, 2021.

The Bureau of Land Management has concluded additional review of its land use plans for Greater sage-grouse habitat in seven states, issuing decisions which find that no further land use planning or environmental analysis is warranted.
