Since August 2020, Elizabeth Moore Aubin has served as a Senior Advisor in the NEA Front Office. Most recently, she was the Executive Director of the joint Executive Office of the Bureaus of Near Eastern Affairs and South and Central Asian Affairs; providing policy direction, guidance and planning for the management of 45 diplomatic posts. In May 2016, she became the Deputy Chief of Mission; and then was Chargé d’Affaires in Ottawa, Canada. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director for the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. From 2011-2014, she served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Algiers, leading the team that won the Department’s Commercial Advocacy Award in 2013.
Elizabeth has served in Washington D.C. as the Director for Human Resources for the joint Executive Office of the Bureaus of Near Eastern Affairs and South and Central Asian Affairs; a Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Management; as a Post Management Officer in the Western Hemisphere Affairs Bureau; as well as two tours in the Executive Secretariat; as a Watch Officer and a Line Officer.
Overseas, she served as the Management Counselor for Embassy Tel Aviv; International Resource Management Officer for USNATO in Brussels; Management Officer at the Consulate General in Toronto; and as a General Services Officer at the Consulate General in Hong Kong. Her two entry-level tours were at Embassy Rome and at the Consulate General in Curacao.
Elizabeth holds the rank of Minister Counselor. She has a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College, 1987. She has taken graduate courses in International Relations from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She speaks fluent French and conversational Italian.
