TxDPS conducted a Field Training Officer course for Morocco’s General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) and assessed the Haitian National Police’s (HNP’s) ability to effectively use command and control practices in operational environments, with a focus on public demonstrations and crises.. The Thomas R. Pickering and Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship Programs encourage applications from minority groups historically underrepresented in the U.S. Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need. Each fellowship provides financial assistance towards the completion of a two year master’s degree in a field related to the Foreign Service, academic funding, mentorship and two internships – one in the U.S. and the other abroad at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. The University of Texas at El Paso (U.S.) with Instituto Tecnológico de Campeche, (Mexico), Instituto Tecnológico de Hermosillo (Mexico), and Instituto Tecnológico de Tlalpan (Mexico). The grant will create an exchange program for students to learn sustainable, human-engineered practices that are environmentally friendly and that promote social justice, focused on water, energy and architecture projects and fostering resilient communities that will meet the developmental needs of societies. University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (U.S.) with Instituto Tecnológico de Matamoros, (Mexico) are developing a collaborative project focused on agroindustry, automotive industry, energy, and information and communication technologies with the assistance of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund.. The emphasis is on technology development and innovation, connecting students to internships in manufacturing, project-based learning, and bidirectional mobility for Mexican and U.S. students.

The U.S. Fulbright Commission awarded scholarships to 30 Peruvians to travel to the United States to participate in different programs at 24 U.S. universities.. One Fulbright graduate students is completing a three-year program studying engineering since 2017 at Texas A&M.

In April 2018, the President of the Universidad Católica del Norte (Chile) led a delegation of seven professors and project directors in different fields (mathematics, English, educational informatics, philosophy and English language) on a visit to Texas Tech University.. The visit resulted in the signing of an MOU on student-faculty exchanges and joint research and teaching projects in wind, mining, big data and astronomy.

In 2015, U.S. Embassy Buenos Aires, in cooperation with the U.S.-Argentina Binational Fulbright Commission and the private sector, launched the Friends of Fulbright Undergraduate Student Exchange Program. This Public-Private Partnership sent 50 undergraduate students to study in the U.S. for six weeks in its inaugural year in 2016. Another 145 students traveled in 2017, and 289 students participated in the 2018 cohort. In the 2017 and 2018 cohorts, Argentine undergraduate students went to the following campuses across the United States.. Twenty students in the 2017-2018 cohort studied at Virginia Tech.

The U.S. Department of State selected the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association (PESA) to create course content for the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Institute’s Oil and Gas course. The PESA's Foreign and Civil Service Officer Energy Industry Training Program, created in 1993, trains foreign service officers responsible for oil and gas issues stationed in American embassies. PESA member companies offer their facilities and personnel to teach the officers every facet of the energy industry, from seismic to refining. The three-day session utilizes site visits, plant tours and panel presentations as well as visits to industry-supported educational facilities such as the Houston Museum of Natural Science Weiss Energy Exhibit.
