Tunisia-Specific Information:
Curfew and Movement Restrictions: As of October 8, the Government of Tunisia has enacted a nationwide curfew. The curfew will remain in effect from 20:00 to 05:00 Monday through Friday, and from 19:00 to 05:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. As of October 29, inter-city and inter-governorate travel is prohibited.

*   U.S. citizens in Tunisia should respect the curfews, adhere to local government regulations, and monitor local media for information on additional cities and governorates enacting curfews as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves.
*   All movements will be restricted during the curfew hours except for emergency purposes.

COVID-19 Mitigation Measures and Requirements: Effective August 24, the Government of Tunisia enacted a law requiring the mandatory wearing of face masks in public and closed spaces, including health institutions, all schools, public transport, shopping centers, leisure areas dedicated to sports or cultural activities, mosques, government buildings, airports, ports, and all public transport stations.

*   The following additional restrictions have been in place since October 29:
*   Gatherings of more than four people are prohibited in public spaces, except for in public transportation.
*   All restaurants and cafes will close daily at 16:00, with capacity limitations of 30% indoors and 50% in outdoor spaces.
*   All protests and demonstrations are banned from October 30 to November 15.
*   All places of worship will be closed through November 15.

Total COVID-19 cases in Tunisia: The Tunisian Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 76,446 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the outbreak in March.

*   COVID-19 testing: There is currently a country-wide shortage of COVID-19 tests. While some private clinics have testing capacities, they require payment in cash before administering the test.
Entry and Exit Requirements:

*   Beginning November 16, the Government of Tunisia will observe new COVID-19 entry protocols for all arriving travelers:
*   Travelers of all nationalities will be required to present a negative PCR for a test administered no more than 72 hours prior to travel.
*   A 14-day self-quarantine at the traveler’s residence or selected hotels will be required. Please note: the Tunisian Ministries of Health and Interior will determine if individual travelers will be permitted to enter Tunisia, and the U.S. Embassy is unable to intervene if a traveler is denied entry to the country. Travelers who wish to do so can take a PCR test on the seventh day of quarantine and leave quarantine if the test is negative.

*   Tunisian Ministry of Health officials have announced that some arriving passengers may be selected for a rapid COVID-19 test. Travelers must comply with all requirements related to COVID-19 testing.
*   Travelers are reminded that there are limited international commercial flights available in and out of Tunisia, and there are no direct flights from Tunisia to the United States.

Quarantine Information:

*   Upon entry, all travelers are required to present the results of a negative COVID-19 PCR lab analysis test administered within 72 hours of arrival.
*   A 14-day self-quarantine at the traveler’s residence or selected hotels will be required. Please note: the Tunisian Ministries of Health and Interior will determine if individual travelers will be permitted to enter Tunisia, and the U.S. Embassy is unable to intervene if a traveler is denied entry to the country. Travelers who wish to do so can take a PCR test on the seventh day of quarantine and leave quarantine if the test is negative.

COVID-19 Testing:

*   Testing can be done at government or private laboratories in Tunisia. The average price is 210 TND.

Transportation Options:

*   There are limited international commercial flights available in and out of Tunisia, and there are no direct flights from Tunisia to the United States.
*   Public transportation is also operating; masks are mandatory in all public transportation vehicles.

Fines for Non-Compliance:

*   Noncompliance with sanitary measures can result in a fine ranging between 1000TND and 5000 TND. (approximately 366 to 1,800 U.S. Dollars). Fines can be doubled for repeat offenders.

*   ACS section resumed routines services for American citizens.
*   The consular section offers emergency visa appointments.

*   Immediately contact the Tunisian Ministry of Health urgent medical services SAMU (190) if exhibiting symptoms and/or have been exposed to an individual who tested positive for COVID-19.
