Tours

The Library of Congress offers many exciting activities on site and online! Entrance to the Thomas Jefferson Building is free and open to the public. You may participate in a guided tour or a gallery talk, or take a self-guided tour of the building and the exhibitions.

Building and Exhibition Tours

  • Jefferson Building Guided Tour

    Take a free one-hour walking tour of this historic building and learn about its symbolic art and architecture. Hear about the history and work of the Library of Congress.

  • Shall Not Be Denied: Women Fight for the Vote

    This tour explores the changing nature of the suffrage movement over its 70-year history, from conventions to a state-by-state strategy to confrontational tactics and a federal amendment.

  • Exploring the Early Americas Tour

    This tour examines indigenous cultures, the drama of the encounters between Maya, Aztec, and Inca cultures and Europeans, and the changes caused by the meeting of the two worlds.
