These tables present national-level data from the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) for treatment discharges in 2015. In particular, these tables summarize demographic information and substance use treatment characteristics—including gender, age at admission, race/ethnicity, number of prior treatment episodes, treatment referral source, and length of stay in treatment—among discharges aged 12 years and older in 2015 from facilities that report to state administrative data systems. The tables also examine the reason for discharge—for example, treatment completion or transfer to further treatment—and the type of treatment service provided. There were 1,549,628 records for discharges of clients in 2015 submitted by 47 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Oregon, South Carolina, and West Virginia had submitted no data or incomplete data for 2015 discharges as of March 16, 2018 [Table 1.1a].1 Of the 1,549,628 discharges reported, 92 percent (or 1,420,316 records) can be linked to TEDS admissions between 2000 and 2015
