Daily Tours Without Reservations

  • Thomas Jefferson Building Tour

    A one-hour walking tour of the historic Thomas Jefferson Building, highlighting its symbolic art and architecture and the work and history of the Library. Offered daily to pre-reserved groups Monday through Friday.

  • Rosa Parks: In Her Own Words

    This tour offers an intimate view of Rosa Parks’s life in activism through materials drawn extensively from the Rosa Parks Collection, a gift to the Library of Congress from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.

  • Shall Not Be Denied: Women Fight for the Vote

    This tour explores the changing nature of the suffrage movement over its 70-year history, from conventions to a state-by-state strategy to confrontational tactics and a federal amendment.

  • Exploring the Early Americas Tour

    This tour examines indigenous cultures, the drama of the encounters between Maya, Aztec, and Inca cultures and Europeans, and the changes caused by the meeting of the two worlds.
