Prior Experience: I was a music historian working at the Library of Congress in the Special Materials Division and the Music Division. My academic focus was American music so it was my great pleasure to work on the Library’s I Hear America Singing concert series and virtual exhibitions.

Languages: French, Spanish and studied German

Education: I am a proud alumna of Howard University in Washington, DC, from which I earned undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in music history and literature, and religious studies.

Interesting Experience: The Department of State embraces STEM education as a driver of sustainable economic growth and innovation. My State career has permitted me to present astronauts Mae Jemison and Robert Curbeam, and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson to international audiences in support of the Department’s STEM initiatives. Crafting and managing educational and cultural exchange programs is one of the most gratifying parts of my job.
