Copyright Office Extends Suspension of Special Handling Fee
The Copyright Office is extending for one year the interim rule permitting waiver of fees for special handling of registration claims that have been pending for at least six months in cases where the applicant has satisfied the Office that special handling of the registration is needed because the applicant is about to file a copyright infringement suit. The interim rule is set to expire on July 1, 2011. This extension will change the expiration date to July 1, 2012. This rule is located at section 201.15 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
