This video will humanize both types of factors by using actors on a stage to show how people can move up or get held back in life, depending on positive or negative impacts. It will ultimately show how increasing what protects people from violence and reducing what puts people at risk for it benefits everyone.

Youth violence is a significant public health problem that affects thousands of young people each day, and in turn, their families, schools, and communities. SafERteens is an evidence-based brief intervention that is implemented in Emergency Departments. This 30-minute intervention is designed for youth who present to Emergency Departments with violence or alcohol problems (a demonstrated risk factor for youth violence) and has the goal of reducing future violence revictimization, substance use, involvement in crime and violence, and rates of entry or re-entry into the criminal justice system. The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) is an ongoing survey that collects the most current and comprehensive national- and state-level data on intimate partner violence, sexual violence and stalking victimization in the United States.
The National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) is the only state-based surveillance system that collects and links data from multiple sources on the entire violent incident into one anonymous database, providing context about victims and suspects; their relationships; preceding circumstances; and weapons used, among other variables.
