The Application Process
1. Do I have to be a United States citizen to apply?
Federal civil service positions at United States Attorneys' offices, including student temporary positions, are restricted to United States citizens and nationals (residents of American Samoa and Swains Island). Dual citizens may obtain additional information here.
2. Are there other conditions of employment?
Background Investigation: The mission of the United States Attorneys' offices is essential to making our nation safe. Often, our work is very sensitive in nature. All candidates for permanent employment are required to pass a background investigation, credit check, and drug testing.
Selective Service: If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under the Selective Service Law. If you are not sure if you are exempt or you have registered, visit the Selective Service System’s website for more information.
3. Who do I contact if I need a reasonable accommodation to apply for a job?
