CDC’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Appropriation
The FY 2020 Labor, Health, and Human Services appropriations bill includes an overall CDC program funding level of $7,974,554,000, which is a $0.6 billion increase from FY 2019. Specifically, the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control is funded at $677,379,000, a $28.8M increase from FY 2019. This amount includes $476 million for CDC’s opioid prescription drug overdose prevention activities and 4 new funding lines for child sexual abuse prevention, suicide prevention, adverse childhood experiences, and firearm injury and mortality prevention research.
