Who Should Attend

This 3½-day class provides basic, entry-level training to officers newly assigned to work with street gangs, but who may have limited experience and little formal training in street gang investigations.

  • Gang Suppression—strategies and tactics that have been effective in suppressing gang activity

  • Gang Investigations—unique nature of gang investigations and gang crime scenes

  • Legal Considerations—use of gang-specific legislation in the investigation and prosecution of gang crime

  • Resources and Programs—utilization of the community as an essential partner in gang reduction efforts
