Please note that as of January 18, 2017, the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices has been renamed the Immigrant and Employee Rights Section (IER).
Individuals who believe they have suffered discrimination may call the Immigrant and Employee Rights Section's (IER) toll-free Worker Hotline at 1-800-255-7688 [Voice] or 1-800-237-2515 [TTY].
IER staff members (who have access to language interpreters) can help workers by calling employers and explaining proper verification practices and, when necessary, by providing individuals who may be victims of discrimination with charge forms. IER investigations typically take no longer than 7 months from receipt of a charge of discrimination. If a violation has been found, victims may obtain various types of relief, including job relief and back pay.
If IER does not have a charge form in your language, you can send us information about yourself and what happened to you in whatever language you prefer. On this page you will find instructions on how to send IER information by mail, fax, or email. IER will translate the information that you send us into English. IER can also contact you in your preferred language if IER has any questions for you.
