The Securing the Information and Communications Technology and Services Supply Chain Executive Order recognizes an urgent need to protect key elements of the Nation’s infrastructure from cyberattacks. This order dictates that any technology or services designed, developed, manufactured, or supplied by a foreign entity may have the potential for risk. Any acquisition of such technology or services is prohibited unless otherwise permitted via measures negotiated by the Secretary of Commerce.
