ABOUT THE COMMISSION

The Industrial Commission is the agency responsible for administering the workers' compensation law in Idaho.  The Commission does not sell insurance.  Here you will find information about the functions of the Commission, the Commissioners, divisions of the Commission, annual reports, the advisory committee, and CFOI.

 

MEDICAL FEE SCHEDULE

Here you will find information about the current medical fee schedule and previous schedules.  You will also find information on hospitals, relative value units, administrative rules, judicial rules of procedure, and information on allowable charges.

 

INJURED EMPLOYEES

Employees can find basic information about workers' compensation here.  Details on reporting injuries, available benefits, rehabilitation services, disputed claims, and pro se representation are available under this section.

 

EMPLOYERS

Contains information to assist employers in complying with the workers' compensation insurance requirements in Idaho.  Here you will find information on insurance companies authorized to write workers' compensation insurance, employees v. independent contractors, exemptions from workers' compensation insurance, self-insurance, rates, reporting injuries, rehabilitation services, and coverage outside of Idaho.

 

LEGAL INFORMATION

Provides information for attorneys, pro se parties and other professions involved in workers' compensation.  Here you will find information on decisions issued by the Commission, the laws and rules governing the Commission, and mediation services.

 

MEDICAL INFORMATION

This page is designed to provide basic information regarding billing and treatment in workers' compensation cases. You will also find HIPAA information.

 

SURETIES & SELF INSUREDS

Insurance providers can find information about insurance requirements, the filing calendar, waivers, audits, and forms related to workers' compensation insurance.

 

UNEMPLOYMENT APPEALS

The Idaho Industrial Commission is the upper level reviewing authority for unemployment insurance decisions issued by the Idaho Commerce & Labor.  Information about this process is contained in this section.

 

CRIME VICTIMS COMPENSATION PROGRAM

The Crime Victims Compensation Program provides financial assistance to innocent victims of crime.  Information on services, benefits and answers to common questions about the program can be found here.

Updates

New Medical Fee Schedule

The Idaho Industrial Commission has adopted a new temporary rule governing payments for medical services under the Idaho Workers' Compensation Law. This rule is effective May 8, 2009, and is applicable to all workers’ compensation medical services provided on or after May 8, 2009.

The Commission's new Rules of Appellate Practice and Procedure Under the Idaho Employment Security Law are effective March 1, 2009. Click here to view them.

Peace Officer and Detention Officer Temporary Disability Fund
The Commission has adopted a rule regarding the Peace Officer and Detention Officer Temporary Disability fund. This rule may be viewed in IDAPA 17.02.04.004.

An employer eligible to seek reimbursement from the  Fund should download the application and send it to:

CVCP Reduction in Payments
All payments made by the Crime Victims Compensation Program on behalf of victims from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 will be reduced by 25% due to financial limitations. For more information, click here for providers, or here for crime victims.
