The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE's) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) staff regularly participate in industry meetings and events. Additionally, the Office participates in the biennial Peer Review process, an evaluation mandated by DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The Peer Review process entails a formal, documented evaluation from independent reviewers using objective criteria. The corresponding meetings are used to produce a formal report that assists the Office in improving its productivity, project management, and overall effectiveness in a variety of project areas.

Hydrothermal Liquefaction: Path to Sustainable Aviation Fuel Workshop

On November 17–19, 2020, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the Bioenergy Technologies Office will host the virtual Hydrothermal Liquefaction: Path to Sustainable Aviation Fuel Workshop. The objective of this workshop is to identify the role of hydrothermal liquefaction process in producing sustainable aviation fuel and identify the research problems in this area that need to be addressed in the near-term and long-term.
