The U.S. government invests nearly $150B each year in federal R&D for cutting edge research at federal labs and universities across the country, as well as small business research and commercialization efforts. As a result of this investment, companies and entrepreneurs may find resources — including research facilities and licensing and funding opportunities — that can support the response to COVID-19. NIST’s Technology Partnership Office has identified the following online resources:
Search FLC Business for Federal laboratory information related to COVID-19. This includes technologies available for licensing, laboratory facilities and equipment, funding opportunities, and lab-specific special programs.
The USPTO's IP Marketplace Platform includes over 200 patents related to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of COVID-19.
AUTM's Innovation Marketplace provides a list of available technologies related to COVID-19.
NIST's MEP centers are supporting U.S. manufacturers as they respond to COVID-19. Learn about the many ways the centers are responding.
The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) hosts a COVID-19 resource webpage that includes the NIBIB Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostic Technologies (RADx Tech) program, a $500 million effort to increase testing capability and accessibility for the virus that causes COVID-19.
In response to a request by OSTP, the Allen Institute for AI hosts the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset, or CORD-19, a free resource of more than 130,000 scholarly articles about the novel coronavirus for use by the global research community.
The COVID-19 High Performance Computing (HPC) Consortium is a public-private partnership between OSTP, DOE and IBM to provide access to the world’s most powerful high-performance computing resources in support of COVID-19 research. The consortium is currently accepting proposals via a portal hosted by consortium member XSEDE.
The Small Business Administration provides information on SBIR awards related to COVID-19.
The DOE Office of Technology Transitions provides COVID-19-related resources through its Lab Partnering Service (LPS) and its COVID-19 Technical Assistance Program (CTAP). CTAP applicants should engage directly with the national lab of their choosing through the LPS.
